65% of Atlantic Canada’s coastal marshes have been either filled or drained.
37 of Canada’s native species are extinct or extirpated; 654 more are dsignated as endangered, threatened or “of special concern.”
Over 99% of our native tall grass prairies and 75% of mixed grass prairies have been converted.
72% of wetlands have disappeared from Southern Ontario.
