where we are and where we are going
In 1967 we celebrated our 100 years as a country by inviting the world to a global exposition, – to explore the creative contributions of 62 counties from around the world. In 2017, we could celebrate our 150 years by inviting the world to a global experience, – to explore the cultural history and creative evolution of a country of communities without borders, – and our imagination as a community of the possibilities for a creative world.
We can celebrate Creative Canada 2017, – inviting the world to explore Canada’s creative communities in our theatre of the new world, – our communities of place, our communities of culture, our communities of creative enterprise, and our communities contributing to and creating community, – contributing to creating a new world – contributing to creating connections and exciting creative community enterprise in our theatre of the new world, – and our imagination and exploration of what we can do in our theatre of a new world to contribute to creating a future for our real world.
All of this for a fraction of the cost of our 100th anniversary celebration and for a far greater impact and contribution to how we see, think, and feel about our world, how we imagine possibilities for our world, and how create community around our common human interests, – the interests we have in common as individuals, as communities, and as a community, – and create a better future for ourselves, our communities, and our world.
In 1967 we celebrated our 100th anniversary by bringing the world to Canada. In 2017, we can celebrate our 150th anniversary by bringing Canada to the world.
Creative leadership, and creative contributions, and creative ideas, and opportunities for creative community enterprise can come from every community in our country.
We can create a stage for Creative Canada to excite interest in exploring the cultural and creative expression and the creative contributions of a world of communities without borders.
We can create a stage for Creative British Columbia to excite interest in creating an environment for our community to create a future for our environment.
We can create a stage for Creative Vancouver to explore how we excite creative community enterprise in a community of place.
We can create a stage for the Creative Canada Network to excite interest in exploring how we accelerate our ability to create connections with and for one another, and how we improve our ability to excite creative connections – connections that excite new insights, new ideas, new imagination, new inspiration, new innovation, and new investment in creative enterprise, – and learn the art of creating possibilities as a community with theatre for a new world.
We can create a stage for our creative communities and our creative leaders, our creative contributors, our creative storytellers, our creative entrepreneurs, our creative producers, our community leaders, and our community journalists to create connections with and for one another around our world and excite creative community enterprise around creating a sustainable world, – environmentally, socially, and economically.
We can move from bringing the world to Canada to bringing Canada to the world, – and what Canada cares about, – what Canadians care about. Creating communities without borders.
